Mr. Duke's Legacy Lives On...

James DukeJames Riley Duke was born in Phoenix on August 13, 1930. He received an Associates Degree in Arts and played basketball at Phoenix College. College associates talked about how they would walk into Mr. Duke's dorm room to find him working on technology gadgets. Mr. Duke loved technology. He would spend hours creating things that weren't available in the market place.

"He always had a camera with him. He was all over the college campus taking photographs for the newspaper. Everyone knew who he was."
A good friend of Mr. Duke recalls that James built a radio frequency controller hooked up to a camera that when activated would take a photograph at the push of a button. Instead of Mr. Duke running up and down a basketball court to take photographs - he would stay at one end of the court taking photographs and when the game was at the opposite end of the court he would just hit a button and let his new radio frequency camera snap photographs off.
Mr. Duke was also a very patriotic American. He gave 2-years of his life at Luke Air Force Base during the Korean War.
In 1950, Mr. Duke founded Arizona's largest family owned and operated photography studio - Duke Photography. Mr. Duke started his career photographing weddings and families. Now, Duke Photography is the official photographer for schools across Arizona and California and is known for creating beautiful family art that can't be found anywhere else in the Valley. Arizona residents agree, the best photographers work at the best photography studio in Arizona - Duke Photography.
